The AGASTHYA-1 configuration was studied with respect to high reliability, low cost, on demand, and anytime launch. Reliability is enhanced by the vehicle architecture of Two Stage To Orbit (TSTO) and the two mission critical separations of the first stage and Pay Load Faring (PLF) are testable hardware. Both the engines of the AGASTHYA-1 are acceptance tested. The flight second stage will be hot tested for 10 to 40 seconds before moving to launch site. The first stage engine is also tested for 3-4 seconds before take-off; hence the mission reliability is significantly enhanced compared to solid propellent based launch vehicles.
